Animals have been saving my life since I was a kid. They were there when I was lonely, heartbroken, going through things I wasn’t sure I could survive. They were the one steady thing when everything else was falling apart.
Lucy was a black lab who came into my life when I needed her most. When she passed away in late 2019, I knew exactly what I had to do – honor her by showing up for animals the way they’ve always shown up for me.
If you’ve ever had an animal be your steady thing, you know what I’m talking about. They don’t judge. They don’t leave. They just love you.
That’s why I started I Love Lucy Dog Rescue Resources. Because rescue goes both ways.
Our mission is to unite our community to support local rescues and foster families by providing the resources and care they urgently need.
We believe every animal deserves safety, love, and a second chance – no matter what they’ve survived. Through resource distribution, emergency funding, community events, and advocacy, we support the network of rescues and foster families who are saving animals from abuse, neglect, and desperate situations across Northern Nevada.
Because every animal has a story. Just like us, they’ve known trauma, fear, and abandonment. Just like us, they need someone to show up when everything feels impossible.
We don’t just talk about helping animals—we take action. From funding life-saving emergencies to connecting rescues with adopters, every program is designed to create real, measurable impact for Northern Nevada’s most vulnerable animals.
We host family-friendly events where multiple rescues showcase adoptable animals. These gatherings have connected dozens of pets with forever families while raising thousands for rescue organizations.
We collect and distribute food, toys, bedding, and supplies directly to foster families and small rescues who can't afford basics but refuse to stop caring for animals.
When rescues encounter animals in crisis needing emergency surgery or life-saving care, we fund the vet bills that small organizations can't afford—saving lives when it matters most.
We organize community drives and fundraising events that put cash and supplies directly into rescues' hands, like our Easter event that raised $1,200 for four local organizations.
We promote spay/neuter programs, responsible ownership, and awareness about puppy mills and abuse—not to guilt people, but to educate them and inspire better choices for animals.
Since 2021, we’ve been building something real in Northern Nevada:
We’re still small. We’re still growing. But every animal helped, every foster family supported, every adoption celebrated – that’s what we’re here for.
Every dollar helps us provide supplies to foster families, fund emergency vet care, and support local rescues saving animals in Northern Nevada.
Because animals show up for us. Now it’s our turn.
