Animals have been saving my life since I was a kid.
When I was lonely growing up, I had a dog named Target who was my everything—exploring with me, sleepingwith me, carrying me through things I couldn’t carry alone. In my twenties, I had Jake and Max, two pugs withattitude who challenged me to be better. Then came Lucy.
Lucy was a black lab who came into my life when I needed her most. She was gentle, nurturing, and just…stayed. No matter what I was going through, what my daughter Bella was going through, she was there. Whenshe passed away in late 2019, I realized something: every animal I’ve ever had has pulled me through somethingI wasn’t sure I could survive on my own.
They weren’t just pets. They were the one steady thing when everything else was falling apart.
And I know I’m not alone in that. If you’ve ever had an animal show up for you when humans couldn’t—whenyou were lonely, heartbroken, going through something impossible—you know exactly what I’m talking about. They don’t judge. They don’t leave. They just love you.
That’s when I knew. When you’ve been saved that many times, you don’t get to just walk away.
I Love Lucy Dog Rescue Resources is my way of showing up for animals the way they’ve always shown up forme. For all of us. Because rescue goes both ways.

They don’t get paid. They shed on everything. And they’re the reason we do this.
We’re building toward something bigger.
We’re building toward something bigger.
This is Phase One. Foundation first. Then we scale.
Interested in being part of what we’re building? We’re looking for sponsors, board members, and communitypartners who believe in this mission.
Their story doesn’t have to end. We get to be part of what comes next.
